West Sussex County Councillor - Cuckfield & Lucastes

Mid Sussex District Councillor - Cuckfield

Pete has been a strong representative for local residents on county, district and parish councils for many years. His record of achievement includes launching the Think Family programme, introducing the 30mph speed limit in Ansty and starting the Haywards Heath Better Transport Partnership.

Most recently locally, he has helped preserve the Cuckfield Youth Club building in London Lane for the local community and developed improved road safety for children with a new crossing in London Lane and further crossings being introduced this year in Ardingly Road and London Road. Pete is a self-taught guitarist, a keen cricketer and Chairman of Staplefield Cricket Club, where has played since 1985. He is a great believer in promoting sports for all ages particularly for the young and he wants to improve sports and leisure facilities for all members of the community.

Pete is Chairman of Building Heroes in Cuckfield and a Governor of Warden Park Academy Trust and Brantridge School. Previously he has spent a lifetime in business, sales and marketing, working for major companies including Toshiba, Ericsson and GE Capital. Pete and his wife, a primary school teacher, have lived in Mid Sussex for over 30 years. They have three children and a grand-daughter.

Save Cuckfield Parking

We, the undersigned, call on Mid Sussex District Council to reverse the decision to introduce parking charges within Cuckfield Village.

This petition reflects our collective opposition to both the imposition of these charges and the lack of meaningful consultation with local residents and businesses prior to the decision being made. We believe that introducing parking charges will negatively impact the village—hurting local trade, discouraging visitors, and reducing accessibility for residents.

The signatures collected will be formally presented to Mid Sussex District Council at the earliest available council meeting following September 1st, and prior to any final decision being made, to ensure that the concerns of the Cuckfield community are clearly heard and properly considered.
