Mid Sussex Conservative Association Conservative Women’s Organisation
Mid Sussex is proud to be a constituency that actively supports its women members through the work of its CWO. Our Chairman, Margaret Baker is incredibly passionate about supporting women in politics.
The CWO is a national group within the Conservative Party that is operated through regional and constituency-based committees. The CWO is about having a shared purpose and a shared goal. It works to support women who are keen to become Councillors, Police Crime Commissioners, MPs, or take on any elected role in the Party and help them with their journey to learn the necessary skills and run a successful campaign. This is because it is so important that women are represented in the Party, and always at the table when decisions are being made. The more women are visible actively working in government, the more we can inspire other women to get involved and to ensure a woman’s perspective is taken into consideration at all levels of policy making. To have our voices heard isn’t just for our elected officials - we also work to reach out to women voters beyond politics, and engage with them to make sure they can get involved in policy forums, campaigns and lobbying. However, all members of the party, including men, are also automatically members of the CWO, and all are welcome at our events.
Events
The best way of getting involved is to come to our events. These are informal and relaxed open forums for conversation and discussion. Please see our events section for upcoming events.
How Do I Join?
Any woman who is a member of the Conservative Party automatically also becomes a member of the CWO and is more than welcome to attend our events.
Please keep a look out on the MSCA website for all our upcoming events, together with other Southern Region CWO events.
Anyone who is already a member of the Conservative Party needs to click on the link below then sign up to CWO, there is no further cost for doing this.
Once you have done this you will get information from CWO South East about your local CWO group and how you can become more involved if you wish or just attend events.
