On Wednesday, Sir Nicholas signed the pledge, organised by the Gatwick Area Conservation Campaign, committing to continue his opposition to a second runway at Gatwick Airport.
Sir Nicholas has repeatedly stated his opposition to a second runway, saying: “this is not, and never will be, the right place for a second runway; it would be a disaster for our local environment”.
